What is the PorchLight Project?
The PorchLight Project provides a way for local businesses and organizations to help their community by putting survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual violence in contact with life-saving services. Helpmate and Our Voice, along with our enrolled partners, work together to strengthen our community by creating a stronger network of support for survivors. At designated PorchLight locations, survivors are able to make a phone call to Helpmate, Our Voice, or 911, and wait in a welcoming and discreet location while those services respond.

Our Voice, Inc. is a non-profit crisis intervention and prevention agency that serves survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking, age 13 through adult, in Buncombe County.
Helpmate, a non-profit that provides domestic violence advocacy to all residents of Buncombe County, works within our community to eliminate abuse and fear by providing safety, shelter, and support for victims/survivors of intimate partner domestic violence.
Want to help?
PorchLight Partners receive specialized training about the dynamics of intimate partner and sexual violence. After receiving this training, the business/organization will be listed as a partner on our website and be provided printed materials to keep on site.
