What is the Porchlight Project?
The PorchLight Project provides a way for local businesses and organizations to help their community by putting survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual violence in contact with life-saving services. Helpmate and Our Voice, along with our enrolled partners, work together to strengthen our community by creating a stronger network of support for survivors. At designated PorchLight locations, survivors are able to make a phone call to Helpmate, Our Voice, or 911, and wait in a welcoming and discreet location while those services respond.

Our VOICE is a nonprofit serving Buncombe County, NC, dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual violence and preventing future harm. We offer free, confidential services including a 24/7 crisis line, counseling, and advocacy. Through education and outreach, we work to build a safer, more respectful community for all.
Helpmate is a nonprofit organization that supports survivors of intimate partner violence in Buncombe County, NC. We provide emergency shelter, a 24/7 hotline, counseling, legal advocacy, and prevention education. Our mission is to eliminate abuse and empower survivors to rebuild safe, independent lives.
